Dr. Gary Fanjiang, Abbott Nutrition, Singapore
Dr. Gary Fanjiang is the Divisional Vice President of Abbott Nutrition Research & Development, Asia Pacific. He leads a team of scientists and health care professionals who are dedicated to creating science-based nutritional innovations for infants, children and adults. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Fanjiang was the Divisional Vice President of Scientific & Medical Affairs for Abbott Nutrition where he globally led medical affairs, clinical development, nutrition science & education, and medical safety for Abbott Nutrition. In addition, he was also responsible for the scientific & clinical rigor and safety profile behind all of Abbott Nutrition’s pediatric and adult nutritional, pharmaceutical and medical device products. He received his training in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children and Tufts-New England Medical Center, where he also completed his residency in Pediatrics.
Dr. Fanjiang received his B.S. in Biology from Cornell University and his M.D., M.B.A. in Health Care Management, and M.S. in Clinical Research from Tufts University. Additionally, he has served as a Fellow and Editor at the Institute of Medicine and the National Academy of Engineering, working on “Building a better delivery system: a new engineering/health care partnership”. Dr. Fanjiang has also worked with venture capitalists to help start a variety of medical software and internet start-up companies.
